Tri Factor - First Olympic Distance Triathlon

28th August nailed the day where I did my first OD tri. Have been training for it for a couple of month and the race day put all my effort into result.. Had a super bad experience booking cab.. advance cab somemore.. spent like an hour booking it via iphone app.. what the point of being so high tech but lousy service... finally gave up and try my luck calling the sliver cab company... and guess what.. 5min! to get a cab...

Race day itself, i plan to reach at least an hour before my race flag off time.. got all my stuff ready, layout my stuffs and get everything ready and guess what.. DAMN i place it at wrong area! thought tri-factor is like tribob.. first time first serve.. whoever come early can chose their good spot to layout the stuff.. shift my stuff to my suppose area and damn it.. bad spot.. oh well.. no choice..

Before the race start.. jumped in to have a taste of the sea water and when i came up, saw qiwen holding his camera and helping me to take photo for my race!

Swim leg:
was nervous and stuff.... when it's my flag off. I get my mind ready and because I'm swimming using breaststroke, I went to the back of the pack so as not to kick anyone when doing my swim... Didn't rush in the water as not to crash with the other in front.. Pace myself well for the first few min and after that, it's about chasing up.. first lap was good... 16min plus for my first 750m.. second lap, i try to pace myself well and i slow the pace down as i want to feel good after my swim leg... done with swim after a big fight in the water.. everyone smashing each other.. u grab my leg i grab your arm and also kicking each other.. damn scary.. but most of the time.. i kick other! up from swim, 33min.. off i went for my bike leg... grabbing a cup of water as i run in..

Bike leg:
In the last lap of my swim, i start thinking through what i should do after i get up the water make me ready for the bike leg.. putting on my stuff for the bike leg and grabbing some water to wash my mouth from all those salty water.. before i went off.. i wish the guy beside me good luck and went off for my bike leg.. 6 lap of 6.66km.. got to really pace myself well.. during the bike leg.. i feel pain and soreness on my thigh.. bad bike form i guess... during the race.. I feel that having a better bike can make some different too.. a good stiff bike allow the bike to glide through the air and using lesser effort to ride at faster pace... My alu bike can't do that.. i must generate more power for faster pace... Non drafting race so i didn't catch any wheel for draft.. saw a group of 4 drafting but i rather do slower than cheating..

Run Leg:
Getting down from my bike, i feel better as compare to the tribob sprint tri... But the soreness from my bad bike form stop me from moving fast.. more like pain than sore i would say.. manage to run a good pace for the first 2km and for the next few km.. my pace drop.. manage to keep myself moving.. first lap done and one more lap to go.. this time my mind keep thinking.. At what distance i should bring up my pace.. don't want to bring up the pace too soon.. at the 8km mark.. i start to bring up my pace a little tiny bit.. push on.. last one km.. bring up a little bit more and when i can see the finishing line, I give in my 100% push.. 2hr 55min.. and that it for my first OD tri..

Conclusion:
I fought in the swim, scolded one HP tri team (loud out that i'm overtaking on his right side and he cut in my lane, got to sudden brake and loud at him before he apologise), Run was.. good.. haha.. overtook more people in this race compare to last race... and also.. a big thank to supporter Ling er, qi wen and alvin for dropping by...
